Week 2: CBT foundations — understanding the anxiety cycle, thought challenging

Week 3: Mid-point review, repeat GAD-7, behavioural activation and exposure planning

Week 4: Practical skills — grounding, breathing, cognitive restructuring in real situations

Week 5: Relapse prevention, building a personal toolkit

Week 6: Final review, repeat GAD-7, discharge summary to GP, plan for maintaining gains

  • Mild to moderate severity — not currently in crisis

✗ Who this is not for

  • Active suicidal crisis (call or text 1737)
  • Severe mental illness requiring psychiatric inpatient care
  • Active substance dependence as primary presentation
  • Already engaged in secondary mental health services
